Adventure at Burritt Sports, also known as ABS, is our official year-round youth soccer club serving families across Central New York. Bogdan SKLZ operates the club’s training, camps, athlete-development programs and competitive soccer pathways.
We currently operate from our 14,000+ square-foot facility at 201 Hamilton Street in Syracuse and are developing our flagship Adventure at Burritt Sports Center at 80 Dutch Ridge Road in Oswego.
Adventure at Burritt Sports (ABS) — Our official youth soccer club and facility organization.
Bogdan SKLZ — The operating business and athlete-development system responsible for training, camps and programming.
Salt City SKLZ Academy — The competitive-team identity used by select ABS soccer teams.
To inspire, educate, and develop athletes through world-class coaching, innovative training, and a culture built on discipline, respect, leadership, and continuous improvement.
We create an environment where every athlete is challenged to become the best version of themselves — not only in sports but also in school, at home, and within the community.
To become one of the premier youth athlete development organizations in New York State by creating a complete, integrated ecosystem that combines elite coaching, world-class facilities, technology-enabled training, character formation, and clear competitive pathways.
We are constructing a place where athletes and families can invest for years under one trusted organization while preparing for success in competition and in life.
These values define our culture and expectations for athletes, coaches, parents, and staff:
Respect — We respect teammates, opponents, officials, coaches, families, facilities, and the game.
Discipline — Consistent high standards and daily habits create long-term success.
Accountability — We own our actions, effort, and commitment to improvement.
Coachability — Openness to feedback and the willingness to adapt drive real growth.
Leadership — Every athlete leads through character, attitude, and example.
Humility — We compete with confidence and carry ourselves with class.
Teamwork — Trust, communication, and selflessness build great teams and stronger people.
Community — Strong clubs build strong communities through service, inclusion, and positive relationships.
Our approach is built on Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) principles. We prioritize continuous improvement over short-term results.
Athletes develop through structured technical progressions, high-repetition purposeful training, athletic performance work, tactical understanding, decision-making, and mental resilience. We emphasize measurable growth in skill, speed, strength, power, game intelligence, and leadership while fostering a love for the game and the habits needed for long-term success.
College pathway support and recruiting guidance are available for players pursuing higher levels of play.
Adventure at Burritt Sports was founded and is led by Bogdan Milovanović and Rich Burritt, with a shared commitment to athlete development, safety, professionalism, and long-term club growth.
The Club operates through a structured team of management, qualified coaches, team managers, staff, and volunteers who support training, competitive teams, family communication, events, facilities, and daily operations.
All individuals working directly with youth athletes are expected to complete applicable background screening, athlete-safety training, and Club policy requirements. Club leadership maintains oversight of coaching standards, player welfare, conduct, communication, and organizational accountability.
Adventure at Burritt Sports maintains rigorous internal standards for governance, safety, coaching education, and athlete welfare. The organization is pursuing club membership with the New York State West Youth Soccer Association (NYSWYSA). Official affiliation information will be updated following formal approval.
Our policies and procedures are designed to align with applicable NYSWYSA and US Youth Soccer standards. Following formal club approval, competitive teams will participate in sanctioned league play, tournaments, and player development pathways in accordance with applicable league requirements.
The organization is completing the required membership, governance, registration, and risk-management processes.
Player safety is our highest priority. We maintain comprehensive risk-management protocols aligned with the U.S. Center for SafeSport, CDC, U.S. Soccer, and NYSWYSA best practices.
All applicable staff and volunteers complete background screening and required SafeSport training. Written policies address concussion protocols, heat-illness prevention, lightning and severe-weather procedures, facility Emergency Action Plans, and abuse prevention and reporting.
Full details are available on our dedicated Safety & Risk Management page. Policies are reviewed at least annually.
Adventure at Burritt Sports is committed to providing an inclusive environment where every athlete has the opportunity to participate and develop. We welcome athletes of all backgrounds and abilities.
Families requesting reasonable accommodations due to a disability or medical condition are encouraged to contact us in advance so we can work together to provide an appropriate and safe experience whenever reasonably possible.
