At Salt City SKLZ Academy, we are building one of the premier training facilities and complete athlete development systems in Upstate New York. Our mission is to develop high-level players and well-rounded young people through a clear, long-term pathway — starting from a six-year-old just beginning their soccer journey all the way to college-level play and real career opportunities in sports and business, all while staying local.
We combine elite technical coaching, serious training volume, entrepreneurial education, and a professional environment designed for lasting success.
Every new player begins with a structured evaluation and onboarding process. From there, families can choose the path that best fits their child’s goals and readiness:
• After-School Program: Players train alongside our academy players in a high-level environment. They receive excellent coaching, develop alongside academy athletes, and can also participate in our summer and day camps.
• Full Salt City SKLZ Academy: This is our core and elite pathway. These players compete in games and tournaments under the Salt City SKLZ Academy name, take part in dedicated chemistry trainings, receive regular video analysis, and have access to over 25+ hours of training per week. Every player is also given their own personal locker inside our facility, creating a true sense of belonging in one of Upstate New York’s top training environments.
Our entire system is built on Long-Term Athlete Development principles. Rather than rushing at just results at a young age, we focus on age-appropriate training that builds a strong foundation across technical, tactical, physical, mental, and leadership areas. This approach gives players the best chance to reach their full potential while staying healthy and successful for many years.

We believe great athletes should also become great thinkers and leaders. That’s why we offer mini entrepreneurial and business classes where players learn directly from successful CEOs, mentors, and high-level business professionals through our sponsors and network. Kids don’t just develop on the field — they also gain real-world skills that can shape their future careers.
Players in our core and elite pathways commit to Salt City SKLZ Academy as their only competitive club — year-round. We do not allow participation with other competitive clubs at any point during the season or off-season. This protects the integrity of our development model and allows us to fully implement our system with every player.
We welcome players from other clubs. When they join us, they can start through our after-school program or summer camps, train alongside academy players, and experience many of the same high-level benefits while transitioning into our system.
By the end of the year, we will launch our own Fair Play Leagues, built on the U.S. Soccer stage matrix. Every game will be recorded and professionally analyzed by our coaching staff. Most importantly, every player will receive 100+ minutes of playing time per week — and with the options available, it can easily be double or triple that amount. This level of meaningful game time is rare and intentional, giving every child the opportunity to develop through real match experience.
We maintain high standards because we are building something serious and long-term. Players are expected to show consistent effort, respect, punctuality, and coachability. Parents are expected to support the culture and communicate through proper channels.
Our after-school and homeschool programs operate inside the same professional system, giving every child access to high-level training and development — with the full academy experience reserved for those ready to commit to the complete pathway.
